Interactive Brokers has launched a stablecoin funding option for brokerage accounts, starting with USDC. This MOVE allows clients to deposit digital dollars outside traditional banking hours, converting them into the account's base currency for seamless access to stocks, options, and other securities.

The initiative reflects broader institutional adoption of stablecoins as payment and settlement infrastructure. Interactive Brokers, a global electronic trading platform with millions of accounts, joins a growing list of firms exploring blockchain-based rails for faster, always-on transactions.

Founder Thomas Peterffy had hinted at the strategy in July, acknowledging client demand for 24/7 transfers while distancing the firm from crypto speculation. The rollout positions Interactive Brokers at the intersection of traditional finance and regulated digital asset innovation.
